Application: Stakeholder Speaking Roles for the 26-27 May 2015 Post-2015 Hearings

The deadline to apply to speak in the hearings is also 27 April. You may apply for both events.
At the request of the Office of the President of the General Assembly, UN-NGLS invites applications for a stakeholder speaking roles for the UN General Assembly interactive hearings on the post-2015 development agenda, taking place on 26-27 May 2015 at UN Headquarters.
Travel funding will be provided for at least 14 speakers to participate in these hearings.
Before applying, please ensure you meet all of the following criteria for participation:a) You work or volunteer for a civil society organization or an organization participating in the Major Groups, and are officially authorized by the organization/network to represent that organization/network.
b) You have excellent competency with issues under discussion for the post-2015 development agenda, or related processes, and experience with presenting these issues in public fora;
c) You have demonstrated the ability to engage constructively with a variety of stakeholders, with openness to receive input from others;
d) You should be comfortable speaking publicly;
e) You must be able to be in New York, NY from 26-27 May 2015 and for travel if needed;
f) You must have a visa for travel to the USA if needed, or be able to obtain one within 2 weeks.
*Please note: Members of the stakeholder Steering Committee selected for these hearings cannot be considered for the speaking roles to be filled through this process for identifying speakers. Steering Committee members could speak during the discussion period of the hearings, time permitting.

A stakeholder Steering Committee facilitated by UN-NGLS will select the speakers for this event. The Office of the President of the General Assembly will review the Committee's selections for regional and gender balance, and diversity of constituencies, expertise and age.
